About My Momma:

About My Momma:
Is it fitting to eat? My Momma would often ask us kids, as we sat around the table. It always was. My Momma was a great country cook. Even well up into old age! When most people had lost their desire to cook, my mother was right in there leading the way. She cooked for a husband, seven kids, plus farm hands. We lived on a small farm and she made stuff from scratch. Everyone of my brothers and sisters are great cooks also. They are gracious hosts and good entertainers in their homes. My mother passed this wonderful love of food and enjoying company down to us.

Baked Ham!

This is good, as the holidays are here.

Ingredients:
10 to 12 pound ham.
1 Tbs     Mustard - Dry or Dijon
1/2 cup  Brown sugar
1/2 cup  Maple syrup
1/4 Tsp  Ginger
1/4 Tsp Cinnamon, ground
1 can of Coke Cola
Cloves are optional

Wrap Ham in tin foil pouring some soda inside keeping it moist as it cooks. Place Ham in a large baking pan and add the rest of the can of soda. Let sit for 2 hours. Pre heat oven to 325 degrees. Cook Ham at 325 for 18 to 22 minutes per pound or to package directions. Add a little water if needed. It shouldn't. Most hams are already pre cooked, we are just heating it thoroughly for our taste.
Mean while mix all the above ingredients in a small pan and heat just enough to mix thoroughly. A couple minutes at most. Take ham from oven at the 20 minutes till done mark and use approximately 1/2 of the mixture to glaze the ham. Return ham to oven. At the 10 minute mark remove ham and install pineapple rings and use the rest of the glazing liquid. Sprinkle lightly with Parsley when done!
If it's for a holiday you'll serve your holiday family standards. For an everyday meal we recommend the following:  Squash, fixed anyway you want it, English peas, and either Honey glazed carrots or sweet potatoes, or a sweet potato dish. Some chilled slices of cucumber in vinegar. Rolls are the bread of choice, served with some Iced tea! Peach cobbler or Bread Pudding makes this meal  great! Enjoy!
